Local delicassy

A tour around the places continues. A town called Nakkila (Finland) is famous of it´s Lampetra fluviatilis ( http://www.arkive.org/river-lamprey/lampetra-fluviatilis/video-07.html ), It´s a creature preying upon fish blood and looks like a missing link between fish, worm and slime. Locals consider these as a treat. There is not much going on in Nakkila, so the Lampetra season is about the only time of the year when Nakkila people can have any fun at all. Unfortunately, Lampetras are extinct from the river running trough Nakkila. That means all the people who used to fish Lampetras have lost they jobs. Many of them have started small restaurants combining the ancient art of baking Lampetras (nowadays imported, obviously) and Finnish national food, pizza. The taste of pizza "frutti di fiume" with extra Lampetra has a distictive taste that might be even a bit too distinctive for some tourist.
